Choose It Narrative

Over the summer, Jack and his family went out to Buckland Beach. It was a very hot day so they went to Buckland beach to swim around Jack and his siblings Megan, Jake and Mia Jack was the oldest they were all so happy and excited, they got their stuff ready got some snacks inside of their bags and their change of clothes they already had their swimming clothes on and were ready to go. Jack and Megan (the 2 oldest) went outside to help their parents pack the stuff for the beach, mum went away for a bit to ring up the family to ask if They want to go to the beach? And they said yes so they got their stuff ready, everyone was ready and were happy to go to the beach they all went to the car and drove off they first went to the shops to buy some snacks and other stuff for the beach. They drove off again everyone was singing in the car with excitement acting like they haven’t been to the beach before but they were still happy to be going to the beach, while they dad was driving all the kids were falling asleep in the car dad was still listening to the radio listening to see if there was anything interesting happening in the world.



While dad was listening to the radio to see if there was anything interesting happening and there was something interesting happening, dad was listening and heard that there was a tall plant in the middle of the forest so tall that it could reach up to the clouds maybe pasted the clouds. Dad heard the name of the forest which was called the Tropical Forest which wasn’t far from where they were so dad thought of going to the beach they could take a look at what kind of plant was planted in the middle of the forest dad drove to the forest wondering What kind plant could this be? How is this plant so tall? & What Makes this plant so tall, dad wasn’t really far from the forest they were 5 to 10 minutes away….. When they finally got to the forest dad woke everyone up and went to the middle of the forest, Jack and his siblings were very confused why they were here instead of the beach Jack asked dad “Why are we here?” Dad replied back “It's a surprise” Megan whispered to Jack “What if there’s something wrong with dad” Jack said back “Don’t say that, Why would you say that about dad?” they were both arguing until mum ask “Why are use fighting?” then they stopped, they turned around to see dad but dad wasn’t there they all got scared of where dad was so they went looking for him…. Until they finally had found him mum asked dad “Why are we here?” Dad pointed to the sky everyone looked at the sky and saw the plant everyone was so shocked by what they were looking Megan thought she was dreaming..... E: For example when your parents need help with anything like, when you see your mum making dinner for you and the family and you see that she needs help. It will be really good and helpful to help your mother with the cooking, or if your parents are frustrated because of their bills it will be really good to be there for them because they would really need the support.




Conclusion

So if you want to be a really good daughter towards your parents then make sure to do all of those things. Respect them, be respectful towards them, help them with things, support them when they need it, listen to them without talking back, appreciate the things you get from them and most importantly be honest with them don’t tell lies just tell the truth because the end of the day your parents would be happy and they would also help you when there's something wrong. It was a sunny afternoon on a Monday everyone was having a nice day in the city everyone was doing their shopping and having their lunch. While everyone was doing their stuff people heard a very loud stomp the ground was shaking, they were all so scared of what was happening but some were trying to find where the loud stomp came from so they were looking around until they saw a big dark shadow at the back of them they turned slowly to see…. And there was the big scary robot everyone was scared and ran away everyone was screaming running away as fast as they could, but as soon the robot got closer the bright blue sky started to fade away, the white clouds turned dark grey and everything was just so ugly the robot got closer and closer, there was a little girl holding her brother in the middle of the street they both were so scared the robot was looking straight at them but soon a man saw them so he ran to go save them he took them to their parents. The robot was busting everything the buildings, trees, cars and the playground everyone was still running for their lives, everyone was just to scared people tried to run into their cars but when they got there they saw that the robot had stomped on it. Task Description: For this week Inquiry we have been learning about cells, Genomes, DNA, Blood cells and other things that's close with cells. Being responsible is really important because it shows other people that if we be responsible more then everyone would be happy and the world would be a happier place.


Why it's good to be responsible.

The reason why It will be good If we be responsible is that it will show that you are being a great person towards other people.
It will also show that being responsible is a really good feeling and will also make the person feel that other people care about them.

Task Description: For this week writing room 1 had to work on a writing called the Explanation writing but we also had to work on the SEE writing as well which means, S is for Statement, E is for Explanation and E is for Example.  The Statement is in blue, the Explanation is in Green and the Example is in pink, after we had done all that we had to learn how to write our hook sentence. Task Description: For this week assignment Room 2 has been working on finding things about Nerve cells and also about Nervous Systems.  The thing that I found about is that the Nervous system is on the central part of the human body that sends messages to each different part of the body, I also found out that the Nerve cell is the Nervous system  special cell.

Task Description: For this week assignment room has been working on finding out what is in blood and in Body Cells, we also had to find out what is blood made from which is blood cells, white blood cells and Plasma.  How there isn't red colored blood that there is also different color blood and not only red.

Task Description: For this assignment I have been working on writing a really good Thesis statement or a Explanation Writing.  I've also been writing about what a really hook is and on how to write a good hook for you to hook other people on reading your writing.

Task Description: For this week assignment me and Zamera had this task to do which was to find out 10 amazing facts about Octopus.  It was cool finding out amazing facts about Octopus because now we know more things about Octopus and that they had really cool ability's and what Cephalopod are which are Octopus, Cuttlefish and Squid.

Task Description: For this week assignment for Inquiry we watched a little video of informaation about Octopus, Squid and Cuttlefish but I had find out that their is a special name for an Octopus, Squid and Cuttlefish which is called a Cephalopoda, I found also out more things about Cehalopoda which were really cool. 

Pseudoscience

Task Description: For this weeks work I have been working out what Pseudoscience, I had to work out disagree or agree if that statement is right meaning that carrots can help you see in the dark which is true carrots can help you see the dark, pilots eat carrots so that during flying a plane they could see better in the dark.

Task Description: For this week Inquiry we did a assignment called the Fragile of life which we had to watch a video of how life began and the we had to pick up some ideas from the video and put in the slide.  Then there was this one slide where we had to write what amazes us and what wonder or questions do we have about life.

Task Description: For this week math assignment we were looking at Vegetable Gardens
but the thing we were really working on was the area of the shapes also the high, length and base of the shape.   

Giant Mystery

Task Description: For this week assignment I have been working out the Giant mystery about the giant bird called the Moa and also about John Rule and his nephew John Horris.  The way I had to try find out was by finding facts and opinions about the story.

The Royal Family.

On the 26th of July a very cool dance group came to our school to perform for us their dance routine for Nationals which was really enjoyable and amusing.  The first thing that the Royal Family did was introducing themselves then Shea talked to us about the girls and saying "In 7 days these girls would be flying up to America to perform for the Nationals." She also told us to "Cheer and clap for them." Then after all that talk the group finally did their dance routine which was remarkable, during the middle bit of the dance Shea the manager gave us some time to ask some questions.  After the questions it was time for the next dance routine part 2 which was amazing and then after the dance it was the end of everything.  Shea also told us that she isn't the one that shows them the dance she said that Parris is the one who trains them everything and Shea just watches and that the girl are the ones that teach her the dance.  

Shaping Up.

Task Description: For this week assignment we did this follow up called "Shaping up." So we had to figure out the perimeter and area for 3 shapes we draw on our paper with 4 sides.  Then after all that we would add the perimeter and get our answer.

Persuasive Wordle.

Task Description: For this week assignment we had to do a wordle about the word of Persuasive which is what the word Persuasive mean but in wordle.  

Persuasive Writing.

Task Description: For this weeks work we had to write about "Persuasive" so we had to write about a statement and my one is "If you are sick you should stay home from school."  and then I had to write 3 reasons why kids should stay home from.  Then after writing that I had to write a planning paragraph about that statement.

Scratch Animation.

Task Description:This Is my scratch animation of I Like Your Latitude and also about the 7 continents in the world.   My first continent I'll be taking you is Australia the all the other 3 I haven't finished my animation but this is what I have done for use to watch.   

Blog Analysis.

Task Description:This week for writing we have been looking at our blogs looking at how many blog post we have been doing on each year.  So then we make a graph about how much we have been blogging, then after all that we had to write about our goals for our blog which my one was to post 150 before the end of the year.

Fish Tank.

Task Description: This week we were working on a task called Fish Tank, we had to figure out how many fish did Mr Vogt put inside the tank and how many eels were inside the tank.  The way that we used to figure out our work was ratio until we got our answer which was 9 eels in the tank and 30 fish given to the eels.

Vaka Voyagers.

Task Description: This week our task is about what the Polynesian use to find their way around and how to find a island to land on, we were reading a book called Vaka Voyagers that had clues on what the Polynesian use to travel after that we had to write in the answer on our task and then we were finished.   

Co-ordinate Graph

Task Description: This is the task we have been working on by using co-ordinates and X axis and Y axis.  As you could see that the shape is a Easter egg but we didn't just draw it like that, we had a sheet that had co-ordinates on and we had to plot the points on where the number says.  Then after plotting the lines we had to connect the dots and it will make the shape of a Easter egg.   

Going on a holiday final Draft.

They had finally got to the hospital and into a room, everyone had made it to the hospital in a rush but lucky they had made it, some of them were so close of not making it to the hospital alive but they were so close to the hospital and made it alive. They had been taken to their rooms the hospital was so dark it looked old too, Nevayah, Nevaeh and Paige were in different rooms but their rooms were next to each other they were all doing okay. The doctor went on each saying, “ You will have to be in here for a little while. “


“ Oh okay. “


So all the patients had to stay in the hospital for a while until they could get out, the 3 girls were injured really badly. Nevaeh had a broken arm and had to wear a cast, Nevayah had a broken leg and had to use crutches and Paige had a broken neck and had to use a cast for her neck. So they were all injured really badly and had to use those things. They had to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks until they could get out they had to stay in there for 4 weeks then they could get out, their bones were fine they felt better than ever and they only had a couple of weeks until they could take their casts of and Nevayah won’t have to use a crutches anymore but Paige had to keep her cast on for a bit longer than the other 2 her neck was really bad she had to wait for 1 month them she could take it off. “ I can’t wait to take this off, it makes my arm itches.” Nevaeh saying with excitement.


“ Same here these crutches are making my arm sore. “


“ I can’t I have to keep this one for a long time, 1 month what am I going to do with this one. “ Paige saying with sadness.



They had finally got out of the hospital they were so excited and filled with joy to have explored the beautiful island Samoa, but Nevayah to still use the crutches, Nevaeh still had the cast on her arm and Paige still had her cast for her neck but Nevayah and Nevaeh get to take it off really soon and have lots of fun without them. Paige was so sad she was happy she got out but she was sad that she had to keep on the cast for 1 month she wanted to have fun with them but instead, she had to leave the cast on.


They had finally got out of the hospital they were super excited to have some fun, they were in the hospital for 1 month which means they only had 4 more months left them they had to go back to New Zealand. While they were in the hospital they had missed their felt back to New Zealand so they had to stay there for the rest of the holidays once they got out of their beds they saw their suitcase on the floor next to them they had some help from the doctors getting down to the exit and getting them in the car, there was a car waiting there to take them to where they were staying Nevaeh, Nevayah and Paige had got in the car with a lady that worked there called Megan. Megan was going with them to help the 3 girls when they needed help, the driver had left and taken them to their place when they got there Megan and the driver took their stuff inside then came and helped the 3 girls get out and into the house, the house was really nice inside there was 4 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, the kitchen and the living room which "This is really nice," Megan exclaimed.


"Look at the beach," Nevaeh replied.


" I know right," Paige told them.


The house was really nice the beach was really beautiful and the view was really pretty the sun was really shinning they were all going to have lots of fun. Once they had got inside the house Megan went helping them packing their stuff getting their stuff ready as well when she had finished she went in her room to pack her stuff then she went inside the kitchen to get some drinks for them they were relaxing on the couch watching some movies, everyone was so relaxed and just chilling when Megan had forgotten to cook dinner so she went into the kitchen getting some food ready for dinner the smell that was coming from the kitchen smells really nice they were really excited to see what was for dinner Megan came out of the kitchen with the food and it was really nice "This is really nice, what is this?" Nevaeh asked.


"Yeah, this is really nice."


" It looks good."


"It's one of my mother's recipes, but I can't tell you it's family secret."


"Oh it's okay, but thank you for dinner," Paige replied.


They had finished their dinner and watch some more of their movie Megan was in the kitchen cleaning up, "Megan can you help get into bed please," Nevayah called.


"Coming," Megan replied.


Megan helped Nevayah get into bed putting her crutches away and doing the pillows for her too, once her bed was made Nevayah went straight to sleep and Megan went back in the kitchen finishing off cleaning the kitchen Nevaeh and Paige were still watching the movie. When Megan had finished cleaning she went into the living room watching the movie, everyone got really tired so they all went to sleep once everyone was sleeping the moon was really bright and the crickets were chirping, everyone had a really nice sleep but it was just too hot for them so they were sleeping without blanket. It's morning Megan woke really early to make breakfast when everyone had woke up they went inside the kitchen and had some breakfast, once everyone had finished everyone got ready for the day Megan had to help Paige, Nevayah and Nevaeh get ready "Should we go on the beach?" Nevaeh asked.



"Sure, why not," Megan replied.


"Yeah," Paige and Nevayah said at the same time.


Since they had got out they now get to finish off their holiday in Samoa, they get to have heaps of fun and they get to live happily ever after. Africa: Wildlife at risk.

Task Description: This week for inquiry room 2 did this slide which is about Africa
on this slide we had to choose a country and animal that is in Africa, once we had picked
our country and animal we had to write about the country like find some information about
the country.  After the country we had to choose a animal that is from that country after we had
picked a animal we had to also find some information about that animal and write it down on the slide.

Going on a holiday 1st Draft.

One sunny morning the sun was shining bright the kids were playing and a 3 friends were going to a beautiful island called Samoa, they were packing their staff getting ready to leave at 4:15 in the afternoon. The 3 friends name is Nevaeh, Nevayah and Paige they were so excited to leave for Samoa, they were staying there for 2 weeks. The 3 friends were staying in a beautiful village called Tuasivi. They were all excited for their trip they were waiting for day to come, they were only two days away.


The time has come the three girls were jumping up and down waiting to get in the plane. But they were more excited to get to Samoa, they were waiting for 1h and 30 minutes to get into the plane and in their seats it took awhile but they had finally got to their seats they were all seating next to each other they had snacks to eat some drink they thought they were gonna have a great time. It was going to take 3.62 hours to get to Samoa from New Zealand, but they were still excited for their time. All 3 of them were so tired so they went to sleep.


While they were sleeping they could feel the plane shaking out of control and everyone screaming, the kids were crying. They woke up looking what was going on they saw that the plane was going right down to the island of Samoa and they were very scared what was going on, they hold onto each other very closing hoping they will make it. The plane had crashed, the girls were lying there bleeding, they got up trying to get out of the plane. Some of the other people had also survived but they were also trying to get out of there., they were all in so much pain and they all needed help. The 3 girls were trying their best to get out but they couldn’t, so they just started screaming for help instead. They were so scared and they were crying they were calling each other names to see if they were okay. But they couldn’t hear Paige, Nevaeh and Nevayah had thought she was dead but she had just passed out, they were calling her name telling her to “ PAIGE, WAKE UP.” “ WAKE UP PAIGE.”

But they were in luck cause Paige had woken up, and Nevayah and Nevaeh were so happy she woke up, but she was still in pain they were all in so much pain. Everyone was in so much pain they were trying to get out and trying to call for help, “ Someone please help.”

They were screaming for help hoping someone will hear and come, little did they know some of the kids that were playing saw the plane crash while they were playing they wonder what had happened. They went running to where the plane had crashed they saw that there was a plane with lots of blood and glass on the ground, they could also hear people crying and screaming for help but they couldn’t do anything to help so some of the kids ran to get some help they were running so fast, they got some help told them “ tatou te mana’omia se fesoasoani. “. which means, we need help


Then they said back “ O le a lena? “. ( which means, what is it. )

“ Sa vaeluaina se vaalele. “ ( which means, a plane had crashed. )


They got lots of people to help them so they followed the kids to where the plane was, when they got there they looked and they also saw what the kids saw. They tried to help them but it wasn’t enough people so the kids got even more people to come, when they had got enough of people they all got all of the people under the plane out getting them quickly to the hospital there was 45 people in the plane and 35 had died and 10 had been injured they tried to get all of the survives to the hospital really quickly, everyone were trying their best to get them to hospital. “Ua toetoe a matou i ai iina.”. ( which means we’re almost there. ).

Harry's War

Task Description:This week I have been working on a task called Harry's War.
We had to write a postcard to a friend about the war, we had to write a postcard to
a person called Ted who was friends with Harry which was the one that went into the war.
Harry really missed the farm and being there with Ted he wrote postcards to Ted saying he missed
the farm and really wanted to come back.

I Like Your Latitude.

On Monday the 29th of April, today is the start of  term 2 for 2019.  The whole of Pt England School had a school Immersion Assembly we had this theme called  " I Like Your Latitude. " Mr Burt was talking to us about what Latitude means. It took a while until he had finished, but when he finished we had moved on to watching each teachers from each teams making a movie and  a live performance  about what the team is going to  work about and talk about.  After watching team 1, 2 and 3's movie, my favourite one was watching team 4's movie. 

Team 4's  movie was really funny, the four teachers were called to go to Pak'n Save for no reason, but then one of the teacher's phone was ringing from the Mr Goodwin which was the one who said to go all the way to Pak'n Save, after the call the teachers had to find their way from Pak'n Save to Pt England School.  They couldn't use their phones for google maps they had to use a map and compass for help. They got the staff and went of finding their way.  The funny part about this was one of the teachers Mrs Sio went off trying her way of getting there all the teachers thought that she would get them back to school cause really looked like she would.  But instead of getting them to school she got them to follow her all way to Great Tongs takeaway and buying her a bag of chicken, so that Mrs Sio could eat all of the other teacher's was really mad at Mrs Sio. 

When they had finally got to school they were really happy and glad they had finally made, but they were also mad at Mr Goodwin so the teachers burst into the class rooms they were gonna have meeting but the 4 teachers were just mad at him so they were yelling at Mr Goodwin.  Miss West yelled at Mr Goodwin saying " Why don't you try finding your way back home, without using your phone." so she took his phone and they all walked away slamming the door and leaving Mr Goodwin having to do a meeting by himself.  

Every first day of the term Pt England School will have an Immersion Assembly to see what other teams will be doing for the term and Inquiry, also to find out what the theme is for the whole of term 2. 

3 Guest Speakers

On the 10th of April on a Wednesday, in the middle block team 5 or the year 7s and 8s had a Guest speaker talk. Which was with 3 guest and they had to talk about themselves and about their career, the 3 guest were, Jason Young which is friends with Mrs Tele'a husband, Fiona Bakulich which is sister’s with Mrs Tele’a and lastly Tanielu Tele’a which is Mrs Tele’a son. So the 3 guest were a family to Mrs Tele’a. 

The first person that spoke to us first was Jason Young, the first thing he said was his mihi which I didn’t understand some of it, then he also told us where he grew up which was GI and the school he went to the college he went to and the job that he worked at which was a Timper Builder he also told us that he did a Ironman and he also liked building when he was in his middle age. 

The guest we had talk to us next was Fiona Bakulich who was sister’s with Mrs Tele’a, she was also talking to us about herself, like where she grew up, what school she went, what college she went to and what her job was which was a Funeral Director, she also told us that she had graduated last month, she also told us that she’s in a tv show on number 1 called The Casketeers which I have never seen.

Lastly of to our last Guest Speakers who is named Tanielu Tele’a which is son to Mrs Tele’a, he told us also a bit of himself and what h liked to do and his favourite hobbies also his favourite sport. Tanielu was student to Pt England School and he liked playing Rugby League, then when he got to college which was at Skent Kents he liked to play Rugby and now he is sticking with rugby and had made it in the Rugby Blues team which was his dream to be playing for the Blues. He also told us that he was the oldest to 3 of his siblings. When he was small he told us that his favourite thing to do when he was little and at Pt England School was doing Animation. He also told us some funny things and some other things he told us about him and what he does as his career which was playing for the Blues Rugby team.  

These are the 3 guest speakers we had at the team 5 block, talking to us about themselves and their careers. It was really cool hearing about their careers and what they liked and their favourite things when they were little, and what school they went to also what college they went to as well.

Attitude Talk.

Task Description:This week for our reading we had to a Plot line to a chapter book
called Whirlwind.  As you could see there is 5 words for the Plot line, Exposition, Rising action, Climax, Falling action and Resolution we had to write about the book by using those 5 words.

Here is another one that I've had been doing at Tech which is at Tamaki College, it is also another one that Mr Daniels had tought me as well which is the same one as the first one I have done. But anyways have fun doing this.

Plot line-Big Shift.

Task Description: For this week the Kina reading group had to reading  this book called Big Shift, after that we had to this task called the plot line about the story that we were reading, also when writing about the book the way we had to write about the main parts of the story.  The last thing is the parts of the plot line which is Exposition, Rising action, Climax, Falling actions and Resolution.

How are students able to respect our environment?.

The future of our environment is riding on the shoulders of today’s youth.


Picking up rubbish anywhere not only a school.

Picking up rubbish at school is okay but how about picking up rubbish in the streets and at home it could be yuck but it is also good picking up anywhere and not only in school so that means picking up rubbish in the streets and at home.

When students make sure that their school is clean they are helping our world be a healthy environment. When you see rubbish on the ground pick it up and put it in the right bin. Once you see lots of rubbish around have some respect, pick it up and chuck it in the bin. Also, by making sure you help each other clean up when you are at home or someplace else.

When picking up rubbish it is really good to put it in the right bin, here is what bin the right rubbish goes in. fruit waste goes in the red bin/ waste bin, hard cardboard and other hard rubbish goes in the yellow bin and lastly the soft plastic goes inside the black bin.

When seeing people who is stuck seeing which bin the rubbish goes in have some respect and go u and help them out don’t just walk past them, help them then it will be easy for other people. When walking past rubbish at school people will pick it up but walking past rubbish at home or anywhere else some people won’t even pick they will just.

If picking rubbish is easy at school then it should be okay picking up rubbish at home or the streets.
I know that picking up rubbish is yuck but then the environment will be ugly and nasty, but still pick up the rubbish in the streets and at home.

Here you have it all four reasons why students need to respect our environment and become part of the solution. Make sure you follow these steps and keep our environment beautiful and clean.

My Visual Mihi.

This is my visual mihi that I have done the visual mihi is all about yourself but instead of using words we had to draw them.  The drawing that I have done is all about me and  what I  represent, see like family is always in my heart, god will always be there for me, sports is what I like to play and do at school, I also like to play sports so that my family can be proud of me and other things.  The Cook Islands flowers is where I am from but I was born in New Zealand but I do go to the Cook Island.

Past The Migration.

Task Description: This work that I have been doing is about my parents and my grandparents,  but it is about when they had left their island which is the Cook Islands.  So in the past which was a long time ago some people had to leave their family's and other things from where they were born and came here to New Zealand, they came to on a ship to New Zealand so they can  start a new life is Aotearoa, also the way how came to New Zealand is by Migration which means moving to places or in shorter words movement, just like how the family's came all the way to New Zealand.
